ELLEN'S MARRIED!

Ring the wedding bells! Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have tied the knot. "Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married tonight in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles," their spokesperson tells PEOPLE exclusively. DeGeneres, 50, and de Rossi, 35, both wore Zac Posen and exchanged rings by Neil Lane during the Saturday ceremony. Their big day also featured arrangements by L.A. florist Mark's Garden. The intimate ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including DeGeneres's mom Betty and de Rossi's mother Margaret Rogers (who flew in from Australia for the occasion), who witnessed the couple exchange handwritten vows. The couple have been dating since December 2004. DeGeneres announced her plans to wed de Rossi during a taping of her talk show in May after California's Supreme Court ruled a previous ban on gay marriage to be unconstitutional. The following month de Rossi showed off a 3-carat diamond ring set on a pink pavé band DeGeneres presented to her for their upcoming nuptials when the pair attended the Daytime Emmy Awards together. "She's taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I've taught her," the TV host said of de Rossi last year. "We've both changed and grown, and we just feel like, 'Oh, okay, this is completion.'" ANOTHER BREAKUP! Though John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston were decidedly mum about their romance, the singer is opening up about their breakup. "There's no lying, there's no cheating, there's no nothing," Mayer told reporters Saturday about his split with Aniston after working out at an Equinox Gym in New York's SoHo neighborhood. If anything Mayer had only praise for his ex, saying: "Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I have ever met." So what went wrong? "People are different, people have different chemistry," said Mayer, who appeared emotional, nervous and sad. "I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right." Sources confirmed that the duo, whose whirlwind romance began in April, mutually decided to split earlier this week. Since the breakup, Aniston and Mayer have settled into their separate lives on different sides of the country. PHIL'S SETTLEMENT...HUGE! The third time was certainly not the charm for Phil Collins, who's facing yet another pricey divorce. After six years of marriage and two children, the musician's former wife, Swiss-born Orianne Cevey, 35, has received a $46.76 million cash payout from Collins, 57, reports Britain's Daily Mirror. The record settlement – Britain's biggest ever in a celebrity divorce – tops by some $2 million what Paul McCartney gave Heather Mills earlier this year. Collins is no stranger to expensive breakups. Second wife Jill Tavelman received $34 million after he ended their relationship by fax in 1994. In all, according to a Daily Telegraph tally, Collins's divorces have cost him $84 million – nearly a third of his estimated $280 fortune. Collins and Cevey met on tour in 1994 while she was working as a translator. Their children are Nicolas, 8, and Matthew, 4. Collins also has three other children: Lily, from his marriage with Tavelman, and Simon and Joelyi, from his first marriage – to Canadian-born Andrea Bertorelli. That union ended in 1979. -people.com

Jewel's Wedding! Jewel sure knows how to pull off a hush-hush wedding. Without family, friends (or paparazzi!) knowing, the singer and rodeo star Ty Murray eloped to the Bahamas on Aug. 7. "To pull off the wedding quietly made it magical," Jewel told PEOPLE the following day. Held at The Cove Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, the very private affair included just two guests: Jewel's former keyboard player Jason Freese, who officiated (the couple found out he had been ordained online) and his wife Amy. At sunset, as Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long" played from their private cabana, Jewel, 34, (in Monique Lhuillier) met her groom (in jeans and cowboy boots) in the sand to recite their handwritten vows. "I said that I'll try to make our lives the best piece of art I've ever done," she said. Murray, 38, secretly proposed to the singer on her birthday, May 23, and the couple decided to elope since "we feel that's what marriage is – just me and her," he said. After their "I dos" the newlyweds called their families to break their happy news and enjoyed a surprise fireworks display from the resort. "It felt," said the groom, "like we were the only ones in the world." Perhaps not for long: Jewel told PEOPLE that she and Murray are "ready to start a family." In fact, her new husband added, "We're going to start working on that tonight!" Elizabeth's Side Of The Story! Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards stunned the nation with his televised confession Aug. 8 that he had an extramarital affair. Battling cancer that her doctors call incurable, his wife, Elizabeth, issued a statement in support of her husband – but how is she really doing? "There was anguish – excruciating anguish – for her in dealing with this," Elizabeth's best friend Hargrave McElroy tells PEOPLE in its new issue. Behind the public show of strength, the Edwards' household has been a scene of turmoil and tension since John, 55, first began revealing the truth about his affair with former campaign aide, Rielle Hunter, 44, after the formal launch of his campaign in the final days of 2006. "He told the truth slowly," according to one source close to the couple. Elizabeth, 59, faced an agonizing choice: "Do I kick him out, or do we have a 30-year marriage that can be rebuilt?" says McElroy. The fact that she suffers from a terminal disease, one that could rob her children – Jack, 8, Emma Claire, 10 and Cate, 26, a student at Harvard Law School – of their mother, weighed heavily in her decision. "She couldn't say, 'Well, maybe we'll work through this for years, or maybe we should separate for two years,'" adds Elizabeth's best friend. "[The cancer] forced her to choose whether to move forward." The Edwardses have not, at least so far, sat down with their younger children to discuss the scandal. "The kids are, to a certain extent, oblivious," Elizabeth's brother Jay Anania tells PEOPLE, "but children are very wise and know things." LINDSAY STICKS UP FOR SIS: Lindsay Lohan may be used to tabloid gossip about her own life. But she's fighting mad over recent rumors swirling around her 14-year-old sister Ali. The 22-year-old actress took to her blog Thursday to slam online speculation that her little sis may have undergone breast augmentation. In fact, Lindsay said she was confronted by a photographer who yelled, "What do you have to say about people commenting on your sister's implants?" "It made me feel a bit sick to my stomach," Lindsay wrote on her MySpace Celebrity Blog. The actress – who's preparing for her recurring role on Ugly Betty – said she's "not judging" people who do have cosmetic surgery. "But all in all my mother taught us to appreciate what we have been given," she wrote. "Nor would she ever encourage, or allow a 14-year-old child to alter her body." Lindsay's blog entry also gave some insight into her mood. Although she just scored some "great clothes" from Alexander Wang, she admitted: I miss Samantha [Ronson] cuz she's out of town.

TAKE TIME TO SMELL THE ROSES! Here are three things to do to improve your daily planning for greater focus:
1. Align your daily work with your goals. The most important thing you can do to increase your focus is to have goals. If your goals are clear (which includes having them written down) it is much easier to re-focus your efforts towards them. Goals provide a compass for your efforts. Make sure your list for the day includes items specifically related to your goals.
2. Do your daily planning before the day begins. Many suggest it is best to do this the evening before because it allows your subconscious to "work on" your list as you sleep. If not then, do it at the close of the previous day or at the very start of your morning.
3. Prioritize the list. If you have the long list syndrome, identify the 5 things that are most important to be completed that day. Make sure that at least one of those things is in service of your most important goals, not just putting out the urgent fires you are facing.
Questioning There are some questions you can ask yourself throughout the day to help you stay focused. They include:
- Is what I am doing now focused on my most important objectives? If the answer is yes, great! If the answer is no, time to re-focus.
- How is my energy level? If you feel it waning a bit, take a five minute walk, a ten minute power nap (click HERE to read more about my thoughts on power naps) or eat a smart snack of almonds or some other energy food.
- What is distracting me now? If something is, determine how to quickly handle it, or remove that distraction. Which leads to my third set of ideas...
Removing Distractions are everywhere. The TV, a cluttered desk, the "ding" of a new email being delivered, more advertising in more places, cell phones and pagers... I could go on, but you are already thinking of the distractions in your life.
Turn off the TV. Clean your desk. Turn down the volume or turn off the ding. Have someone answer your phone while you work on that project. Screen your calls.
You get the idea.
Make a list of the 5-7 top things that distract you (at work or at home - wherever you are trying to increase your focus). That's right make the list right now.
Then identify what you can do to remove, eliminate or defer the distraction when you most want to be focused. Focus and clarity are siblings. Both of them are required for us to get greater results, and come ever closer to unleashing our potential. I wish you the best in your efforts to increase your focus. I promise that your efforts will rewarded with greater productivity, higher quality work, and greater opportunities. -sideroad.com
THE NEW BRITINEY?
-justjared.com Britney Spears gives OK! magazine her first candid interview in two years. Here’s what the comeback pop princess had to say: On not wanting her sons, Jayden and Preston, to pursue a career in the entertainment business: “I’d rather not. But but I’d love them unconditionally if they wanted to. I’d just as soon they have a more normal childhood.” On younger sister Jamie Lynn’s recent pregnancy: “I was shocked a little bit. She’s always been the baby, and now the baby was having a baby. It was mind-boggling.” On wanting her boys to be close to her newborn niece: “I’m sure the boys will be like big brothers to Maddie.” On her new album hitting stores in six to nine months: “I think it is more urban. I’m writing every day, right here at the piano in this living room… This is my best work ever.” Her father, Jamie Spears, was also present during the interviewing, sharing how Britney is capable of being manipulative to get her way: “It’s wonderful. (The relationship) is new for both of us. She sometimes calls me 50 times a day and asks me things that light my life up. But like all daughters, she is very manipulative and cunning. So she gets what she wants a lot… God has a way of taking something bad and turning it into something good. If this hadn’t happened, I would never have been able to get back with my daughter and have this relationship I have with these two little boys.”
